Trousers or Skirt?

Even now as early as February the Wedding Season has begun!

We are finding it most difficult to decide what to wear to a wedding at this time of year, trousers or skirt, thick jacket or wooly cardi, hair up or hair down (probably down, to keep your ears warm, its quite chilly you know!),  so many decisions to make!

We can’t imagine what it must be like to actually organise the wedding itself and make all those decisions along the way. For instance, how would you decide what Wedding Cake to order?

We have been meeting quite a lot of Brides (and grooms ) to be  just recently in need of some inspiration from our magical creative minds to help them make that all important decision of how to WOW their wedding guests with a totally stunning cake.

Avoiding the january blues

Its January, its dreary, we’re all a bit fed up really.

But then again, January is a great month – and here’s why we love it…

Love is in the air…..

Brides-to-be are visiting our shop to start booking their summer wedding cakes. Its exciting seeing what treands in wedding cakes are coming through this year.. we’re seeing a lot of interest in piped wedding cakes, which we think are beautiful, very stylish and stunning, so are very much looking forward to making those soon!

Piping is a great way of adding delicate, yet stunning detail to create that wow-factor cake – whether it be fun colourful stripes that co-ordinate with your colour scheme or perfect pearls and blossoms.

On that note, we’d better go and whip up some royal icing….

What would your cake say about you?

As i sit and watch my son listening intently to ‘Waybuloo’ and ‘In the night Garden’ it reminds me of all those Iggle Piggle and Yo Jo Jo cakes we’ve made in the past. I think you can tell a lot about a person based on what cake they have. For instance, my son would love a cake in the shape of Macca Pacca, therefore you can tell that his Mummy lets him watch TV at 6pm so that she can tidy the toys away and browse the internet without having her hair pulled!!

We’ve recently made a toilet cake! Well i’m sure you can can make your own mind up about what this cake might say about somebody!!

p.s.  dont for get there are only 9 sleeps until Christmas, you had better order those last minute Christmas cakes soon!!

Cake Tattoos

There are several tattoos walking about our foxy kitchen, and whilst they are all works of art, we think this one would be the most appropriate for our foxy team:

Roseanna’s Bakewell

My oh my, I’ve had a very busy day today and have hardly had a chance to eat anything at all, very naughty I know! But, low and behold Rose came to the rescue with one of her superior Bakewell slices fresh from the counter at the FCC, possibly the best Bakewell slices I’ve ever had, move over Mr Kipling, Roseanna is in the house!!
